Duplo Launches New Creasing Solution For Short Run Digital Colour Market
Monday 10. March 2008 - Duplo International has extended its sophisticated range of digital finishing equipment with a new model: the DC-445 DuCreaser. Ideal for the short run digital colour print market, the cost-effective, fully automatic DC-445 provides an essential solution to the problem of toner cracking on digitally printed work when folded. It is also equally well suited to creasing offset printed cards or laminated stock.
The DC-445 DuCreaser is ideal for professional finishing of a range of promotional and direct mail items including flyers, brochures, greeting cards and CD/DVD covers, prior to folding. Capable of applying up to 15 creases in one pass, the DuCreaser is an economical match for 30-80ppm digital printers. However, with a speed of up 50 sheets per minute (A4 short edge feed, one crease), it can equally well handle the rated output of 110ppm printers.
An automatic belt suction feeder ensures the consistent and mark free delivery of sheets of up to 350gsm. The top feed design combined with a feed pile height of up to 100 mm, easy programming and a 30 job memory for fast recall provide exceptional productivity with minimal operator intervention.
Crease positions can be adjusted in 0.1mm increments and the tolerance is just +/- 0.3mm. In addition, skew and shrinkage adjustments can help compensate for possible print issues ensuring a consistent professional finish.
The capabilities of the new versatile creaser can be further extended with two optional units. Perforating tools convert the unit into a high speed device for coupon type applications whilst the slitting tools are ideal for applications such as CD covers, where a finished size of 120mm width is required.
