Inkjet & Digital Printing
SCREEN Inkjet Printing Open House for Pharma Signals the Digital Future of Pharmaceutical Leaflet Printing
Thursday 04. December 2025 - SCREEN Europe has successfully concluded its exclusive Proven & Approved Inkjet Printing for Pharma Leaflets Open House, welcoming leading pharmaceutical printing and packaging professionals toits Inkjet Innovation Center in Amsterdam.Attendees responded enthusiastically to the live demonstrations, workflow tours and expert-led discussions focused on the critical performance requirements of pharmaceutical leaflet production.
The warm and exciting reception sent clear signs that SCREEN’s inkjet solutions are already meeting the accuracy, productivity and quality assurance standards demanded by pharmaceutical clients, and positions digital inkjet as the most capable and scalable technology for the future of printing leaflet.
The Evolution of Digital Inkjet for Pharmaceutical Leaflets
SCREEN specialists presented the advanced capabilities of the Truepress JET solutions, designed to ensure consistent and compliant output for patient-critical information. The demonstrations confirmed that SCREEN’s SC+ inks deliver offset-equivalent text sharpness and optical density, ensuring small text that meets readability requirements without impacting productivity. Many attendees were particularly impressed to learn that SCREEN digital presses can print on ultra-thin pharmaceutical papers already approved and affordable coated and offset coated papers by major pharmaceutical companies without requiring a primer and the subsequent costs and workflow complexity with the needed high optical density.
Additionally, advanced workflow management and finishing systems supports SCREEN’s proprietary EQUIOS software to ensure printing output remains consistent from the very first sheet to the last while supporting more automation freeing operators to complete more job orders all while lowering waste and increasing production efficiency.
These digital printing innovations together support growing initiatives within the pharmaceutical packaging sector to expand Just-in-Time production strategies, helping pharmaceutical converters improve their overall supply-chain performance, reducing storage requirements, avoiding waste, and improving sustainability initiatives as rapidly shifting regulations risk making large inventories suddenly unusable and require subsequent disposal.
Successful Partnerships Across the Entire Workflow
SCREEN Europe also offer its sincere thanks to their event partners who contributed their expertise, including MBO KOMORI, Delfort, and Koehler Paper. Their support demonstrated the strength of an end-to-end integrated production ecosystem starting from substrate manufacturing to folding and finishing solutions can give printing businesses and their exacting clients the confidence that every step of leaflet production has been considered and accounted for.
And they wish to extend a particular thanks to Ralf Kutschera, Head of Strategic Purchasing at Faller Packaging whose keynote presentation proved to be the highlight of the programme. He provided invaluable insights into Faller Packaging’s own digital transformation with SCREEN printing solutions through more than a decade of collaboration with on what they needed from their inkjet systems to be successful for this unique printing application.
Currently, Faller Packaging is producing approximately 50% of all their leaflets using four SCREEN Truepress JET digital presses and expects that amount to increase with a fifth installation planned. Ralf’s message reinforced the confidence throughout the showroom, saying, “Digital printing is no longer about fulfilling a particular niche in our leaflet production workflow. It is increasingly becoming our primary production method as we move forward.”
Digital Inkjet: The Future of Pharma Leaflet Production
This positive reaction by some of the pharmaceutical leaflet printing community’s most influential members confirmed that pharmaceutical printers can rely on SCREEN inkjet to meet the evolving demands of leaflet production, including shorter runs, faster lead times, stricter regulatory expectations and increased product variations.
The conclusion as the guests made their way home was clear, pharmaceutical leaflet production is moving toward smart, automated and adaptable digital processes, and SCREEN is ready to lead this transformation through continuous collaboration with customers, industry partners, and pharmaceutical clients at industry event like this as digital printing becomes the new standard for pharmaceutical leaflet printing.
