150th Allrounder for HK Cosmetic Packaging

Monday 03. November 2025 - HK Cosmetic Packaging specialises in innovative plastic packaging for international customers, mainly from the cosmetics industry. The company has more than 110 years of experience and, among other things, a modern injection moulding production facility.

HK Cosmetic Packaging GmbH, based in Coburg-Creidlitz, Bavaria (Germany), and Arburg have been working together closely and trustingly since the purchase of the first Allrounder in 1975. This successful 50-year cooperation was celebrated on 22 October 2025 together with the handover of the 150th Allrounder at Arburg’s headquarters in Lossburg. The anniversary machine, a hydraulic Allrounder 720 S, is used for the production of high-quality cream jars.

Close cooperation for 50 years
HK Cosmetics Packaging is an expert in injection moulding, thermoset pressing, injection blow moulding, screen printing and hot foil stamping. In addition to customised packaging solutions, the product portfolio includes an extensive standard range of thin and double-walled tins, brilliant thick-walled jars, individual sticks and roll-ons as well as matching closure options.
For 50 years, the company has relied exclusively on Arburg machines for injection moulding. Christian Abicht, Managing Director of HK Cosmetics Packaging, summarises the reasons for the successful cooperation as follows. “We particularly appreciate the great reliability and durability of the Allrounders. The processes are stable, which is crucial for our production. The ability to customise the machines to our requirements is also a big plus”.

Automated injection moulding production
Together with the anniversary machine, around 85 Allrounders in the clamping force range from 250 to 3,200 kN are currently in use. Many systems are equipped with Multilift linear robotic systems for automated series production. Together with Arburg, a complex turnkey system for the fully automated production of cosmetic jars with lids was also developed and put into operation. The latest hydraulic Allrounder 720 S with a clamping force of 3,200 kN and a size 1,300 injection unit is also automated with a Multilift. In future, the anniversary machine will produce thick-walled PET cream jars with wall thicknesses of up to ten millimetres.

Ceremonial handover
A large delegation from HK Cosmetics Packaging travelled to Lossburg for the machine handover to celebrate the double anniversary with 50 years of cooperation coinciding with the 150th Allrounder. The delegation attending this anniversary event included Managing Director Christian Abicht, Production Manager Stefan Mayer and Design Manager Hamdi Sevinc as well as Matthias Beck, Head of Injection Moulding, his Deputy Hubertus Nützel and Alexander Wittig, Head of Maintenance.
