Kongsberg and MultiCam set to ignite creativity and productivity in FESPA visitors

Wednesday 14. February 2024 - Sign and display manufacturers will see first-hand how they can achieve improved productivity, efficiency, and the creative freedom to bring designs to life when Kongsberg Precision Cutting Systems (Kongsberg PCS) showcases its digital finishing innovations at this years FESPA.

Visitors to the event, held from 19-22 March at the RAI Amsterdam, Netherlands, will discover how the power, performance and versatility of the company’s market-leading Kongsberg cutting tables and MultiCam CNC solutions enable sign and display businesses to streamline workflows and automate production to boost efficiency and creativity.
“From our display area (Stand A30, Hall A1), we’ll demonstrate the precision and power with which our systems cut, crease and finish a whole range of materials,” said Frank Walter, Kongsberg PCS Sales Director for EMEA. “We will highlight the speed and ease of production – as well as some of the wonderfully offbeat designs that have been brought to life using Kongsberg C24 and MultiCam Apex3R machines.”
Frank said the Kongsberg C24 combines strength and speed with quick and precise tool movements, making high quality digital production possible even under the tightest deadlines. “As part of the special FESPA setup, we’ll show how the High-Power Milling Unit (HPMU) equips the robust and reliable C24 for milling, contour cutting, routing, drilling and engraving,” he said. “The HPMU is suitable for high speed routing in a wide range of materials – everything from foamed and solid PVC/PS, acrylic and aluminum through to composite material, MDF, wood and more.
“Importantly, the Kongsberg C24 is also equipped with our latest iPC (i-cut Production Console) software, specifically developed to make it even easier for users to harness the power and precision of their equipment and get the most out of their investment,” said Frank. “With iPC, you can set up standard production workflows, create simple designs and layouts, and run production manually or fully automated. Additional efficiency can be enjoyed through tooling options such as the manual roll feeder, and we look forward to demonstrating how this can help further drive productivity for businesses at FESPA.”
Setting the standard for routing
Frank said FESPA visitors will also be treated to demos of the hugely impressive MultiCam Apex3R CNC router, the flagship in its MultiCam range of advanced routing and CNC cutting systems.
“Attendees will be able to see close-up the power and capabilities of one of the most versatile CNC routers on the market, and also learn how innovations like the automatic tool changer enable operators to make fast tool exchanges between eleven different tools to make the process faster,” he said. “We will demonstrate how the Apex3R sets the standard for routing capabilities with its perfect balance between performance and precision, and how tools like the fully programmable CNC knife can cut a wide range of materials such as rubber, foam, gaskets and textiles.”
With spindle speeds ranging from 4-13.3 HP, the Apex3R can cut a variety of materials including plastic, aluminum, wood, high-density foam, and composite materials.
“Following the opening of our dedicated MultiCam customer experience center at our Belgium headquarters last year, we’re excited to bring the Apex3R to FESPA and demonstrate just how quickly and easily we can bring our customers’ designs to life,” said Frank.
