Wegner GmbH reaps versatility and productivity benefits with Fujifilm Revoria Press PC1120

Monday 10. October 2022 - The companys relationship with Fujifilm dates back to the late 1990s, when Fujifilm first supplied Wegner with CTP equipment and plates. Wegner later invested in Fujifilms flagship B2 inkjet press, the Jet Press 720S in 2015 to support its growing digital work.

Long-term Fujifilm customer has been able to expand business opportunities due to the press’s flexibility, production speeds and six colour printing capability.
Founded in 1985, Bremen-based Wegner GmbH is a full-service commercial print business offering digital printing for brochures, booklets, calendars and photobooks for its expanding customer base.
The company’s relationship with Fujifilm dates back to the late 1990s, when Fujifilm first supplied Wegner with CTP equipment and plates. Wegner later invested in Fujifilm’s flagship B2 inkjet press, the Jet Press 720S in 2015 to support its growing digital work, and following impressive results, upgraded to the Jet Press 750S in August 2019, resulting in an increase in output, production speeds and flexibility.
More recently, the company has made another addition to its growing portfolio, investing in Fujifilm’s toner press, the Revoria Press PC1120, which was installed in March 2022.
Henning Rose, CEO, Wegner GmbH explains what led him to the Revoria PC1120. “We had an existing small format toner machine from another supplier, but we were not fully satisfied with the quality that we could achieve with it. Fujifilm introduced us to the Revoria PC1120 and we were instantly impressed.”
Mr. Rose continues: “We decided to opt for the Revoria PC1120 as we found it to be the most flexible toner press available on the market as well as offering outstanding quality and colour stability. The machine can affordably produce a great quantity of high quality work on demand across a wide range of substrates, including banners and envelopes, which has enabled us to diversify our offering. It was the only press we identified that could offer such flexibility with minimum downtime. It has the added capability to print on very thick substrates, which is often a problem for other similarly sized machines, enabling us to reach a wider number of customers.
“A further key feature that appealed to us was the six colour stations available, as we require unique spot colours such as pink, along with metallic silver and gold. We use these colours and effects for applications such as brochures and business cards. Other platforms required multiple passes through the press and the swapping of colours between stations to achieve the same output. These added benefits have allowed us to obtain new customers and develop our business.”
Mr. Rose concludes: “The current print market presents many challenges, from material procurement to rising costs. Fujifilm provides us will all the necessary consumables, giving us peace of mind, and enabling us to act proactively, rather than reactively. Overall, we are very happy with the investments made, along with the level of service and support received. Fujifilm continue to prove themselves as a strong partner and we are looking forward to continue to grow this relationship further.”
Mark Lawn, Head of POD Solutions, Fujifilm Europe comments: “We are proud to be a long-term partner to Wegner and it has been a pleasure to see the benefits their many Fujifilm investments have brought them over the years. They are well recognised within the industry as being real experts within their field – especially with regards to colour and application diversity. Wegner’s confidence in the Revoria for future POD work is therefore a strong endorsement for the quality and versatility that can be achieved with the press. We are delighted that it has allowed them to expand further within the short time it has been installed, and we look forward to seeing how this, along with their other Fujifilm investments, continues to help their business develop.”
