Beltz Grafische Betriebe GmbH invests in new production technology

Tuesday 27. August 2019 - Beltz Grafische Betriebe GmbH in Bad Langensalza is investing in a new offset printing press from Heidelberg and an automated prepress workflow with Heidelberg Prinect, new exposure technology from FUJIFILM and a plate line from BEIL. The company is responding to the change in the order situation and is preparing for the future with further investment projects.

The new Heidelberg Speedmaster XL 106 thus replaces two older printing systems and enables efficient operation thanks to faster, autonomous plate changing with the latest push-to-stop technology. Cost savings are also expected in energy and material procurement, as well as in paper waste.
In addition, the entire prepress stage will be converted to automated processes. In addition to standardized data control by the Heidelberg PRINECT workflow, the printing plates are output on the new FUJIFILM platesetter as required and prepared and sorted by machine and job on the BEIL plate line.
The current investments amount to around EUR 2 million and are major steps in the restructuring process initiated almost three years ago. Since then, the company has concentrated on book production and can rely on its extensive know-how in the hard and soft cover sector.
