LAKE IMAGE SYSTEMS WINS the Label Industry Global Award For INNOVATION

Friday 27. November 2015 - Lake Image Systems Ltd., a leader in variable data integrity and print quality inspection for the packaging, labels, and commercial print industries, is proud to announce that it has been jointly awarded the 2015 Label Industry Global Award for Innovation (for companies with up to 300 employees) for its Discovery MaxScan product.

The award was presented at the prestigious 2015 Label Industry Global Awards ceremony in Brussels on 29th September; the judges “were particularly impressed with MaxScan key benefits over traditional line scan camera technology, such as uniform 600dpi inspection resolution and virtually no angular variation, to provide label converters with tools to accurately detect print defects without the need for expensive additional rollers, re-designed web paths or complex optical assemblies.” The award was collected by Martin Keats, Managing Director and one of the 3 co-founders of Lake Image Systems.
“This is a wonderful milestone for Lake Image Systems,” says Keats. “We constantly strive to develop solutions for our customers to help them produce error-free print, easier and more efficiently, thereby mitigating risk, reducing production costs and minimising waste. We recognised the challenges facing the print industry for a compact, integrated and high resolution vision solution for data integrity verification and print quality inspection, which can be easily integrated on press without any modifications to the paper path or press. We were able to draw upon our 20 years of experience and were one of the first to develop the MaxScan solution which is based on an intelligent, CCD array scanning technology that can be easily installed inside a press and detect very small print defects immediately after the print heads rather than at the end of the press. Degradations in print quality can be analysed in real-time, allowing inspection data to be fed directly to the printer controller, enabling it to either make real-time print registration or colour adjustments, or start a recalibration/cleaning process, increasing overall print quality.”
“We’re grateful to the Global Award judges for this recognition.” adds Keats, “This award reflects the importance the industry is placing on the need for accurate, continuous and real-time variable data and print quality inspection solutions that ensures that every printed document, label, tax stamp, card or package is produced without defects delivering immediate economic, operational and environmental benefits for the industry.”
