Dr. Hoenle & Eltosch Grafix: Curing and Drying Systems for Inkjet and Flexo Printing Applications

Friday 23. October 2015 - At InPrint 2015, UV specialist Hoenle present their latest UV-LED systems for inkjet and flexo printing applications. Hönle shares its stand with another member of Hoenle Group: Eltosch Grafix show their highly efficient and energy saving IR/hot air drying solutions.

Brandnew is the LED Powerline Flexo, an UV-LED system for curing highly reactive inks which was especially developed for flexo printing. The compact LED module is 90 mm high and 100 mm broad. Its length depends on the application in question. The irradiation width of 280 mm to 680 mm meets all current requirements of flexo printing. Also, the lamp power of 16 Watt is ideal for flexo printing applications. LED powerline flexo has got an integrated control system.

Also new is LED Powerline AC/IC. This air-cooled high-performance UV-LED array with integrated control electronics wins over by its compact and lightweight design. It is able to emit the wavelengths 365/385/395/405 +/-10 nm and can thus be perfectly matched to the substrate. LED Powerline AC/IC is available in two versions, which differ in performance and dimension of the light-emitting aperture. The first version irradiates an area of 78 mm x 10 mm, the second version one of 82 mm x 20 mm. For even larger irradiation lengths, LED Powerlines are stackable without any gap.

Exactly tailored to the requirements of inkjet printing are the drying units of the jetCURE series – no matter if based on UV, UV-LED or IR technology.

At InPrint, Eltosch Grafix shows a newly developed product for inkjet printing: jetCURE IR. The typical compact design of the device series allows an easy integration into the printing machine. Different wavelengths can be generated by a quick and easy IR lamp exchange. According to the application, a combination with hot air is possible.

HiJet E-Line offers a highly-efficient combination of IR and hot air technology. The drying system consists of a drying module with two integrated hot air nozzles, two IR lamps and a compact supply unit with air heater, fan, control unit and safety equipment.

Several units can be merged into one system with different drying zones. Each segment can be set individually and continuously and offers an own monitoring function for all important parameters.
For this system, Eltosch Grafix has been awarded the BG certificate for “energy-minimised drying”.
