NÜRNBERGER PRESSE DRUCKHAUS TO UPGRADE

Tuesday 14. October 2014 - The Verlag Nürnberger Presse Druckhaus Nürnberg GmbH & Co. KG knows where it's going, and it is relying on ppi Media to achieve it: to utilize its printing capacities to the full, print not only its own newspapers, but, as a service provider, third-party products as well - and all this in an efficient and largely automated workflow. Having worked for many years with the classic workflow from the Hamburg-based software developer, the Nuremberg publisher will also use ppi Media's prepress solution OM in the future.

The Verlag Nürnberger Presse Druckhaus, which already uses PlanPag, AdPag and ProPag in its workflow, will, with ppi Media’s OM solution, be adding a particularly flexible output management system to its range of products. It will allow the publisher to automate its production of printing forms, enabling him to be especially flexible and competitive on the market. OM will not only benefit the group’s two daily newspapers, the Nürnberger Nachrichten and Nürnberger Zeitung, but will also be used for third-party print products. The project is to start in November this year and will go live in spring 2015.
Optimized use of resources
The Nürnberger Presse Druckhaus will optimize its production of printing forms with ppi Media’s output management system OM in order to create a particularly flexible, effective and secure workflow and to be especially well prepared for the future: “We want to prepare our printing and publishing house for future challenges together with a reliable partner. OM is exactly the right tool for this,” explains Michael Bendel, operating manager of the Verlag Nürnberger Presse Druckhaus Nürnberg.
Integrated in other systems
In the course of optimizing the prepress workflow, OM will be fully integrated in the existing ppi systems. In a second step, the publisher intends to install OM portal as well, a web-based solution for integrating external orders efficiently in its existing OM workflow.
