WoodWing announces availability of cloud-based Enterprise Analytics – first solution for comprehensive content production analysis

Wednesday 01. October 2014 - WoodWing Software, the expert in publishing efficiency, has announced the availability of Enterprise Analytics. The new cloud-based product equips WoodWing's multi-channel publishing system Enterprise with comprehensive features to analyze the publishing process. It enables publishers to monitor and steer their production for print, online and digital content.

Through the Enterprise Analytics Application, they can access visual status reports about individual stories and related content, including articles, layouts, images, audio and video. Enterprise Analytics requires the new version 9.4 of Enterprise, which offers a variety of new features. WoodWing will demonstrate Enterprise Analytics at the upcoming World Publishing Expo at booth 10.100 in hall 10 at the Amsterdam RAI exhibition center.
With WoodWing´s Enterprise Analytics, content creation processes are no longer a black box for publishers.
In publishing, the term “analytics” is being used in relation to content consumption. Various solutions, including Google and Omniture, are available to analyze readers’ behavior. The content production phase has largely been a black box for publishers, however – until now. Using the cloud-based WoodWing Enterprise Analytics, publishers can for the first time access detailed real-time reports on the status of their production processes – at any time, from any location and from any device. Given publishers’ limited resources on one side and the increasing number of publishing channels on the other, having this insight will greatly help them optimize their processes to meet tight schedules while maintaining high quality standards.
Two detailed reports in first release, more to come
The first release of Enterprise Analytics provides two important reports. The Progress Report displays the full production progress at a glance. Dashboard widgets provide information about the complete issue, while users have the option to drill down per channel, and even on an individual story level, to see the progress for each type of content. The File Status Report delivers all necessary details about the exact phase each single file is in, whether it´s being edited, reviewed, final or on any other status level the publisher may have defined.
Taking user feedback into account, WoodWing will develop additional reports. Reports for further optimization of workflows, reports to optimize digital magazines and more are among those being considered. Thanks to the cloud-based approach, future reports will become available automatically for customers, without the need to upgrade software components.
“In order to monitor and adequately steer the modern complex publishing environments, publishers need comprehensive and meaningful information about the status of their content production and the efficiency of their processes,” said Roel-Jan Mouw, CEO of WoodWing Software. “With Enterprise Analytics, a true production cockpit is available for the first time that presents all relevant data in a clear and visual manner. We deliver true management data, bridging the gap between production and business management.”
Since the first announcement of the solution within the WoodWing Xperience in Lisbon in mid-June, Enterprise Analytics has found great interest among both customers and partners of WoodWing.

New version 9.4 of Enterprise required
The use of Enterprise Analytics requires a special plug-in for Enterprise Server, ensuring safe communication between two. The plug-in is available with the new version 9.4 of Enterprise. Version 9.4 also enables publishers to define custom workflow states, which can then be monitored by Enterprise Analytics. Other new features are the improved support for right-to-left languages in the multi-channel text editor of Content Station, easier placement of multi-component articles, as well as a side-by-side comparison of the stories planned for various channels.
WoodWing to show Enterprise Analytics and Elvis DAM 5 at World Publishing Expo in Amsterdam
WoodWing will present Enterprise Analytics at the World Publishing Expo taking place in Amsterdam from October 13-15. WoodWing will also show the new version 5 of its digital asset management solution Elvis DAM, enabling the management of up to one billion assets. The event is also a great opportunity to learn more about WoodWing Digital Services, a new business unit WoodWing recently founded aimed at helping publishers tap the business opportunities of digital publishing.
WoodWing will present itself at the World Publishing Expo with a new, two-story booth in a trendy sea container format. Visitors can talk to members of the WoodWing team as well as to representatives of partners including A&F Computersysteme AG (Switzerland and Germany), Publiqare and Graphit (both from The Netherlands), Creative Systems Engineering (France), Myjour and Adobe. On Tuesday evening, WoodWing invites the WoodWing community – customers, prospects and partners – to a dazzling party at Jimmy Woo, Amsterdam’s hippest location.
