Durst, the specialist for industrial inkjet applications has announced the appointment of Antonio Castaño as the new Managing Director for the subsidiary Durst Image Technologie France SAS. Ten years ago, Coruble had been instrumental in establishing the French branch as an important section of Durst’s internationalization strategy. Castaño’s appointment signifies a change of generation at Durst’s management level. His official inauguration has taken place at the FESPA Digital 2014 in Munich at the end of May.
“We sincerely appreciate Luc Coruble’s successful work over the years and wish him all the best for his retirement,” says Christoph Gamper, CEO, Durst Phototechnik AG. “At the same time we would like to welcome Antonio Castaño at Durst. We are very pleased to have found a reputable and experienced successor from the imaging industry, for this very important market.”
Antonio Castaño, who was born in 1957 can look back on a long career in the imaging industry. As graduate of the Ecole de Photographie de Bruxelles, his career path in image- and color communication was always predetermined. During his career, he held positions as Marketing and Sales Manager for leading printer manufacturers such as Scitex, Indigo, NUR (today divisions of HP) and from 2004 – 2011 for EFI VUTEK as Sales Director EMEA, where he was in charge of the transnational business operations.
In 2011, Castaño, who speaks five languages, founded his own company, ILOOK and sold digital signage systems as digital platforms for marketing and information.
“Within a few years, inkjet technology has advanced tremendously. So for me, it doesn’t really feel like I’m coming home, it’s more like a re-discovery of an exciting world,” says Antonio Castaño. ´I am thrilled, to take on the responsibility for the region and to be able to represent Durst, as the leading manufacturer in the large-format segment. We will demonstrate our innovative potential with new printer systems at the FESPA Digital 2014 and deliver proof, that the technological development in our industry never stands still.”
