Matthews International Corporation merges with Schawk, Inc.
Monday 07. April 2014 - Matthews International Corporation, a global brand solutions and memorialization company, entered into an agreement and plan of merger on March 16, 2014 with Schawk, Inc. (SGK), a leading brand development, activation and deployment company.
SGK is a publicly traded (NYSE: SGK), $450 million global provider of brand development and deployment services, with over 3,500 employees in 40 offices in more than 20 countries across the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific. Matthews is a publicly traded (NYSE: MATW), $985 million designer, manufacturer and marketer of Memorialization and Brand Solution products, with 5,800 employees worldwide. Throughout Europe and Asia, brand and packaging companies known as 5flow, Apex, IDL Germany, Kroma, MBS UK, Rasterpunkt, Repro Busek, Reproflex Leipzig, Reproflex Vietnam, Reproservice, Rudolf Reproflex, S+T, Saueressig, Scholler, Tact Group, TWL and Wetzel, operate under Matthews International.

David Schawk, SGK’s CEO, and Brian Dunn, Group President of Matthews Brand Solutions, will work together to focus on expanding the global offerings and further strengthening customer relationships.
While awaiting final approval of the transaction, customers will receive the same high-quality products and high level of customer service, with the long-term vision of providing an even more comprehensive product offering in the future.
