Harland Simon drives away more obsolescence…..

Friday 06. December 2013 - Harland Simon is pleased to announce another press drive upgrade following on from the recent upgrade at the Birmingham News, AL; this time at the Winston Salem Journal, NC, part of the recently formed BH Media Group. Upgrading the 9 unit, 2 folder Mitsubishi press will take place in early 2014 providing a reliable platform for the Journals increasingly demanding print schedule.

This order once again demonstrates the versatility of Harland Simon’s standardized upgrade methodology, whether new or retrofit, Mitsubishi or manroland, Goss or TKS, KBA or Wifag the core platform and principles remain the same. This standardization improves support, reliability and reduces downtime.
Charlie Brackley, Sales Manager for Harland Simon commented ‘Justifying the upgrade of obsolete unsupported components requires forward thinking and a commitment to the printed product. This consultation process was about selecting the best vendor for the job, the justification was implicit to reliably deliver its products.’
The project includes the replacement of five 75HP drives, six 250HP drives and two drive masters, with off the shelf Allen Bradley hardware, to be installed without any interruption to production. As normal this will come with Harland Simon’s suite of diagnostic tools and the comprehensive AB RSLogix 5000 package.
