DALIM SOFTWARE releases ES4 marketing media production automation platform, extending its reach with new print, packaging, ePub, video and web content tools

Wednesday 04. December 2013 - New version supports all types of media formats, seamlessly integrating with MIS and ERP, while providing versatile collaboration features for all partners in the print, packaging, publishing or media supply chains.

During its 2013 World Wide Technical Meeting, DALIM SOFTWARE, makers of award-winning, scalable software solutions for the creation, production and management of cross-media content, announced the release of ES 4, the latest version of its customer-facing web based production management solution.
ES (Enterprise Solution), the groundbreaking fourth edition of its integrated media production platform, offers a complete solution for the management and production of the many aspects of media services, regardless of final output—print, packaging, large format, web, e-book, video, and more. The ERP and storage-friendly combination of technical workflow production along with business process management results in a highly flexible centralized platform for all participants of the media production lifecycle. ES offers an intuitive user interface running on a standard web browser, along with mobile Apps extending its reach to the C-suite.
ES 4: Bridging the gap between print, packaging, video, web, mobile and even augmented reality
DALIM SOFTWARE has talked with many print service providers (PSPs), retailers, brand owners and marketing service providers (MSPs), and realizes that their expertise and relevance must extend far beyond print. For both PSPs and MSPs exploring these new opportunities, the latest version of ES extends its support of images (with layers), video, Flash and animated GIF banner ads along with website content, documents and imposed forms to bring together all the elements required to manage and produce cross media campaigns.
This capability of seamlessly working with new media is also expanded to data storage. ES 4, along with its current ability to handle managed content within its own database, can now work with referenced content, particularly useful for those who need to work with very large video files or external storage devices and other file system-based digital asset management (DAM) systems. In fact, beyond print files, ES 4 now also offers DAM features to automatically catalog, enrich and share images and other assets, such as video or ePub or can be integrated with 3D augmented reality models.
For web-based projects, print-ready PDFs are automatically or interactively enriched with active URLs, picture slide shows, videos, tables of content, and action buttons—and exported to interactive HTML5 or ePUB3 content to be embedded in a website or mobile e-readers, including customized iPad Apps, through Apple’s iBookstore or Amazon Kindle Store. This means that print-ready PDF files take the form of much more dynamic content for readers.
For print workflows, ES 4 features a versatile imposition module that can import both CFF2 and JDF templates to automate classic step & repeats as well as complex print and packaging impositions for PSPs.
DIALOGUE Engine 4: Breaks the corporate IT ‘barriers’ with new HTML5 viewing, mark-up and validation.
DIALOGUE Engine, the leading soft proofing application available for stand-alone integration through comprehensive SDK/APIs or within ES, receives a major upgrade. It now features a corporate IT-friendly HTML5 intuitive interface. DIALOGUE Engine was conceived from the start as a state-of-the-art tool for PSPs, retailers, brands and corporate users to mark up, annotate, compare and approve a wide variety of high-resolution documents. DIALOGUE Engine 4 is now easier and faster than ever before. It relies solely on HTML5 for the most common operations—an important compatibility and security step in the ever-evolving IT environment.
New annotation management features offer widely improved communications, allowing users to comment and reply to notes someone else has written. Also, annotations can be turned into a checklist for participants to check as ‘done’, for better tracking of ‘to-do’ items.
When working in a color-controlled environment with special files, such as intense spot color files for packaging, decoration or security printing, DIALOGUE Engine 4 now reads a spot color’s spectral value in addition to the Lab equivalents. This offers those with stringent color requirements to offer a much more accurate display of a color’s properties for their project partners.
“DIALOGUE Engine 4—now with its important HTML5 implementation—and ES 4 are stronger and more versatile than ever. Individually or integrated through a powerful API, these products are capable of fulfilling the needs, equally, of printers, publishers, brands, corporations and retailers. With the help of intuitive web services, finding, accessing, sharing, transforming or repurposing media assets becomes seamless and automatic—whether for ‘print’, ‘packaging’ or non-print content,” explains Dr. Carol Werlé, DALIM SOFTWARE CEO.
“We believe in long-term relationships with our clients, where our applications help them win, save, or simply keep their customers—quite different from a consumables-driven business model,” adds Werlé. “The past decades have proven we will allow our products to evolve over the long term to handle any sort of print or digital production challenge. With the help of our partners, we continue to help our customers’ organizations fundamentally reshape the future of relationships with their own clients.”
