DALIM SOFTWARE announces HTML 5 publishing with multi-media content at Cross Media 2012

Thursday 23. August 2012 - Visitors to stand 220 will see how files—including VIRTUAL LIBRARY HTML5 flipbooks—can be easily posted on websites.

At stand 220 during Cross Media 2012, September 3-4 at the Business Design Centre in London, DALIM SOFTWARE, developers of highly efficient, scalable enterprise software solutions for the creation, production and management of cross-media content, will showcase new, significant features of ES and VIRTUAL LIBRARY. These allow users to turn print-ready PDFs into interactive, browser-based HTML 5 flipbooks. This complements previous announcements introducing the latest release of its popular customer-facing online production management, ES 3, (Enterprise Solution) at drupa 2012.
Cross Media 2012 is an event for marketers and agencies to discover how cross-platform campaigns can improve ROI; and for traditional print and media owners to understand the commercial implications and opportunities for their businesses.
Part of ES, VIRTUAL LIBRARY (DVL) is a page-turning application providing real-time access to a realistic publication ‘look and feel’, even simulating paper grades, for softproofing review and approval before a job is printed. The Enrichment option of ES lets brands and publishing customers turn otherwise static, print-ready PDF files into interactive digital magazines, newspapers, corporate publications, brochures and catalogues—even adding movies and slide shows—for the iPad. Thus, the content provider has the tools to offer a much more dynamic ‘reader experience’ than just the pure conversion of a magazine ported to an iPad.
Now, the very same enriched documents can also be placed as HTML5 files (rather than Flash) on the web, eliminating the need for any reader application or plug-ins, even on mobile devices. This offers the ability to post interactive online content without any need of cumbersome and time-consuming programming.
“With ES and DVL, anyone — for example, publishers or catalogue producers — can embed dynamic page-turning content on any website, just as is done with YouTube videos, easily viewed by anyone,” explains Isabelle Billerey Rayel, Business Development Director, DALIM SOFTWARE. “For example, a prepress house producing printed catalogues can help a retailer display a digital version online, even before printing. Combine this with ES enriching technology, and you have a powerful tool to produce interactive online catalogues or magazines within minutes, that can be dynamically updated if an item is sold out. While some prepress houses already provide this service, many are Flash based, with its compatibility issues. Or, other systems require very time consuming and costly programming. ES and DVL make it a very simple process.”
