POLLARD BOXES MAINTAINS IMPRESSIVE INVESTMENT RECORD
Wednesday 13. November 2013 - Rigid box specialist Pollard Boxes is investing in excess of £1 million in the installation of new equipment and expansion of facilities at its purpose-built factory in Leicester.
The latest investment includes the purchase of a new screen printer for special finishes that makes Pollard the first UK box manufacturer to offer this type of printing and finishing in-house.
The £250,000 Sakurai printer will enable the company to offer off-line spot UV varnish, silk screen printing and some very special finishes only possible with the silk screen process.
The new machine brings Pollard’s total investment in print finishing alone to in excess of £600,000 in the last three years. Other recently-installed equipment includes a Paperplast thermo film lamination line and a fully rebuilt Heidelberg foil blocking machine. These further complement further the previously installed Autobond wet film lamination line.
In addition, Pollard is further developing its range of services to customers with the expansion of its End to End operation, following the creation of a new 25,000 square foot secure facility within its factory. This will enable the company to offer a bespoke fulfilment operation, with the design and manufacture of boxes, packing of product into these, and onward supply to the customer.
A further investment in new equipment has seen the installation of a new fully automatic “top-load” Emmeci MC2012 MEB for the manufacture of high quality presentation boxes up to 330mm deep, which is particularly suitable for bottle boxes.
