RICOH CONFIRMS ATTENDANCE AT CROSSMEDIA 2013
Tuesday 24. September 2013 - Ricoh UK has confirmed it will be exhibiting at Cross Media 2013 in the Business Design Centre, Islington, London on the 23rd and 24th October. Ricoh will be using the exhibition to showcase its growing range of Software as a Service (SaaS) products - a central tenet of the company's 'Print and Beyond' strategy.
Says Gareth Parker, Strategic Marketing Manager, Ricoh UK: “Six months’ on from North Print & Pack, Cross Media 2013 now gives us a great opportunity to showcase all our expertise in, and range of, SaaS products. Twelve months ago we announced an investment in PTI, and we are very pleased to now say that we will be using Cross Media 2013 to profile the first Ricoh version of MarcomCentral, which will be publicly available in the UK from November.”
MarcomCentral is a SaaS-based marketing asset repository that allows companies to build and store print and non-print based assets (such as logos and marketing kits) from a centralised site. The advanced cross media architecture delivers a broad range of features and capabilities, such as web hosting and personalised print, to support businesses that are aiming to grow their value-added-services and take advantage of the expanding digital marketing opportunity; as well as driving incremental print volumes and higher margins.
Also featured on the Ricoh stand will be the company’s ‘Clickable Paper’ solution, which has recently successfully completed stage one of its first commercial trial with Barnwell Print and its customer, regional publisher, Just Regional. Both companies will have representatives on the stand running live demonstrations showing how this interactive, intelligent solution is working for them.
Clickable Paper brings publications to life by providing readers of magazines and newspapers and advertisers a chance to interact through the published word. Consumers wishing to use the Clickable Paper solution simply download a free Ricoh app from the App Store or Google Play. Users then hover their smartphone or tablet over the desired content on the page, click and the content is immediately uploaded onto their device. Information relayed can be up to six links including websites and videos to social media sites and entry forms for competitions. Barnwell Print and Just Regional will be giving a “Going Beyond Print to Deliver Value-Added Services, Solutions and Applications” presentation in the Print & Innovation Theatre on Wednesday 23rd October from 12.15 to 13.00, where they will be discussing the successes through phase one and two of their trial of the Clickable Paper solution.
Concludes Parker: “Visitors to the Ricoh stand at the show will be able to go away with a clear understanding of what SaaS is, and how Ricoh’s solutions can benefit them and their businesses. Cloud-based services are a key element of Ricoh’s ‘Print and Beyond’ strategy, the objective of which is to provide printers with a constant stream of innovations and added-value services that complement their print offering. This provides them with a broader range of profitable applications to present to customers and helps print to maintain relevance and indeed thrive in our world of multi-channel communications.”
