Key to folding carton finishing in digital printing

Tuesday 24. September 2013 - KAMA to present innovative Stripping and Blanking Unit SBU on the HP booth at LabelExpo

The German machine manufacturer KAMA GmbH will be debuting their Stripping and Blanking Unit SBU 76 at LabelExpo in Brussels (24 to 27 September) at the HP booth (Hall 5 Patio). The newly-developed device does all stripping and blanking without the need for expensive tools or manual processes. This allows quick and flexible job changes, saving time and costs and strengthening the advantages of digital printing (short lead times and cost-efficient production of short and personalised runs). The SBU 76 joins the versatile KAMA DC 76 finishing die cutter and will be presented in a workflow with the HP Indigo 30000 Digital Press.
Features for digital prints
The German based machine manufacturer KAMA was amongst the first to develop specific solutions for the needs of digital print finishing. “The first challenge is to keep the register precision throughout the entire finishing process. We solved this with our AutoRegister which aligns each sheet to a print mark with highest precision”, explains KAMA CEO Marcus Tralau. “Secondly, digital printing needs flexible finishing solutions to come out profitably with short and medium-sized runs. This is where the new SBU is scoring: As the unit does not need job-specific tools, job changes can be done quickly and flexibly.”
Solution for format B2
The KAMA ProCut and DC die cutters with AutoRegister and SBU are now also available for B2 format matching perfectly with digital printing presses, including the HP Indigo 10000/30000 Digital Presses. Applications include hot foil stamping, blind embossing, die cutting/creasing at highest register precision, completed by stripping, blanking and shingled stream delivery on the new SBU. The mobile stripping unit KAMA SBU 76 will be available from the fourth quarter of 2013.
