Fuji Xerox Launches Industry-First Color Multifunction Devices With a Built-in Air Purifier

As the industry’s first initiative, Fuji Xerox Co., Ltd. will launch color multifunction devices with a build-in air purifierDocuCentre-IV C2263 Model P with Air Purifier and DocuCentre-IV C2263 Model PFS with Air Purifieron September 11. The Company showcases these models in its stand at International Modern Hospital Show 2013 held in Tokyo Big Sight starting today.
Multifunction devices operate around the clock to cater to communication needs via documents, but the devices are on the stand-by mode when they are not used for printing or copying. To offer customers values during such long stand-by mode, Fuji Xerox developed the multifunction devices with a build-in air purifier under the concept of the realization of a clean and comfortable space.
These new models will be added to the DocuCentre-IV C2263 series launched in December 2011 targeting small office / home office (SOHO) market. The Company employed a space-saving design by embedding the air purifier in the space used for a paper tray.
The air purifier incorporates a bio-filter that combines an antibacterial filter coated with organic silver particle for high antibacterial effect and an anti-virus filter, as well as an odor eliminating filter using activated carbon. Air is taken in from the machine front and filtered to be exhausted upwardly from the back side to circulate the airflow in a room, to purify the air within a small office of approximately 30 to 50 square meters in about one to two hoursNote1.
The main targets of these models are hospitals and clinics where general public gather. The devices can also contribute to building a clean environment in nurseries, kindergartens and tutoring schools where many children gather.
Users can turn the air purifier function on or off, adjust the air volume and set the timer depending on working hours by using the operation panel of the multifunction device. The air purifier is designed not to disturb the users by incorporating a silent fan.
The DocuCentre-IV C2263 series, which are equipped with basic copy and print functions all-in-one, have been received positively from corporate customers for its compactness and user-friendliness incorporating various features along with high energy-saving performance.
