DIENES knife holder DS µ receives the C2 European Innovation Award 2013
Tuesday 11. June 2013 - High precision and with optimum functionality: The knife holder DS µ from DIENES, the worldwide leading manufacturer and turnkey provider of industrial slitting tools, adjusts to the user's highest demands in the field of high-tech foils, such as battery foil. This innovative, market influencing development of DIENES received recently the C2 European Innovation Award 2013 and the C2 American Innovation Award.
Thanks to 100 years of experience DIENES knows exactly what its international customers appreciate: “In order to lead the market it is absolutely essential for our users to have machines of highest quality, which run reliably, flexibly and are cost and time effective”, says Sales Manager Mr. Dietmar Fritz. “Our new DS µ was developed in close collaboration with customers in order to consistently meet the increasing user’s demands for an absolutely precise, well sophisticated and sustainable knife holder.”
You can rely on the DS µ even at peak times. Users profit from the integrated DIENES
customer-specific special solution: A knife carrier ring fixed to a specially shaped polyurethane ring, allowing to easily assemble and disassemble the knife head while representing highest stability. At the same time, the knife holder proves its worth by a considerably improved concentricity and a minimum lateral run-out thanks to its precision ball lining. “Tolerances at the contact points of the circular knife are less than 5 µm. This impressively low value was achieved by combining these two innovative techniques”, says Technical Manager Mr. Josef Nelles.
Owing to the knife holder’s convincing benefits it was submitted to the contest organized by the trade journal C2 Coating & Converting. “For us and the industry sector the DS µ is another important step into the future”, says Mr. Dietmar Fritz. The C2 jury agreed and granted the company the C2 European Innovation Award 2013 for this new development. Dietmar Fritz and Petra Böhme (DIENES Marketing) received this award as well as the C2 American Innovation Award.
In addition, another DIENES product aroused in particular the attention of experts at the ICE Europe 2013 in Munich: Thanks to the DIENES honeycomb structure and the long guide bodies the knife DS 6 impresses with its extremely high stability with very small cutting width from 30 mm. Adding to this is the smooth cutting pressure positioning and a worldwide unique patented bearing position preventing the stick-slip effect – all of this at a high speed of up to 2,000 m/min. “The DS 6 is the culmination of company know-how from our many patents and innovations. This powerful and compact knife holder thus sets a new worldwide standard”, says Mr. Dietmar Fritz.
