kpm invests in its future growth with a Ricoh Pro C901 digital press
Wednesday 10. April 2013 - Kent-based direct-mail provider, kpm, has bolstered its print armoury by investing in Ricoh's Pro C901 digital press. kpm has been a Ricoh customer since 2009, previously purchasing two Kodak Digimaster production lines from the company, and the purchase of the Pro C901 forms part of kpm's long-term strategy to increase the volume capacity of its workflow.
Installed in December 2012, the Pro C901 will provide the company with an infrastructure that offers increased reliability and speed across its entire workflow and the platform to fulfil the growing needs of its existing client base, as well as push for new contracts. The Pro C901 is one of Ricoh’s most advanced colour cut-sheet digital production presses and the additional features on kpm’s unit include inline stitching, high capacity input trays and stacker.
Graeme Burton, operations director at kpm, commented: “We achieved 40 per cent growth in 2012 and this is set to continue this year. As such, it was imperative we invested in a machine that could handle larger volume full-colour personalised projects. Colour consistency during runs has always been a problem with previous vendor offerings, but the C901 continues to impress with its excellent colour management and flexibility of substrates. We also have a clear business focus to expand our service offerings to our key business sectors including financial, commercial and public sector clients. The addition of our first C901 will put us in a stronger position when tendering within these sectors, and the increased workload that will result from winning them.”
Gareth Parker, strategic marketing manager at Ricoh UK commented: “We are pleased kpm has opted for the Pro C901 to further the scope of its business and congratulate them on an outstanding performance over the last 12 months. The Pro C901 is the perfect technology to form the foundation for companies looking to operate more effectively meaning productivity can increase which helps win more business. We do this by placing high importance on working closely with our customers to truly understand their business and what they require from their workflow. We take a highly-personalised approach, offering a total package that suits their business objectives – based on our years of experience and research into managing print effectively. Our work with kpm is a prime example of the benefits of this detailed approach.”
kpm was founded in 2001 as a direct mail provider but in recent years has grown an enviable reputation within the Financial and Corporate Finance markets undertaking projects on behalf of the majority of the FTSE 100 companies. The company’s services include data processing and bespoke programming, colour and mono personalisation, extensive hand fulfilment and intelligent machine enclosing. The company’s strength is the flexibility it offers all of its clients – making its mailing services available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
