W+D show visitors how to Empower the Envelope at Hunkeler Innovationdays 2013

Friday 01. March 2013 - Leading mail solutions provider W+D pulled in the crowds at Hunkeler Innovationdays 2013, with visitors wanting to learn more about how to Empower the Envelope and the potential of the mail market. Demonstrating four key products via detailed video presentations at the Lucerne-based show in Switzerland - including the award-winning W+D TIMOS Totally Integrated Mail Output Solution - the company engaged with a broad demographic of visitors from all over the world interested in its Mail Solutions portfolio, recording more than 80 leads.

“Visitors were impressed with what the envelope could do for their business by bringing production in-house, and how simply and effectively it can be achieved,” says Thorsten Jost, Vice President of Sales & Marketing. “Marketers were interested in the variety of bespoke applications made available by our machines. Supported by our insights on the independent research by Nielsen1 into mail marketing, visitors to our stand were very responsive to our technology and to what we had to say, and this translated into the number of leads we received.”
Key products from W+D portfolio catch the eye
W+D TIMOS was presented to the European market for the second time since drupa 2012. Audiences at the demonstrations were enthralled by the pioneering technology that delivers envelope manufacturing, individual printing and inserting (enveloped-on-the-fly) all in one step. Producing up to 15,000 4-colour full face TIMails per hour, visitors were shown exactly why the machine has won a multitude of awards for its capabilities to deliver the fastest customized mailing piece in a real envelope – as fast and efficient as email.
Also presented at the stand via video presentations was W+D 320, a high-quality envelope production system that is capable of in-line cutting, foil patching, scoring and perforating envelopes for short-runs at speeds of up to 21,000 envelopes per hour, W+D 234d, a robust, industrial grade, high speed four-colour (CMYK) inkjet envelope overprinter that can run up to speeds of 30,000 envelopes per hour, and the W+D BB700, the fastest machine in the company’s inserting product portfolio, processing formats from C6 up to B4 at 16,000 cycles per hour.
Jost concludes: “For W+D, Hunkeler Innovationdays was a great success. We enjoyed speaking to a number of different customers and were overwhelmed with the response we received to our technology. It has put us in great stead for 2013 and the show demonstrated another reason to visit Lucerne – beside the fantastic carnival!”
