Hönle Group achieves operating result of 1.5 million in the first quarter
Thursday 28. February 2013 - In the first quarter of the 2012/2013 financial year, the Hönle Group sales revenues improved from T 15,773 in the previous year to T 16,543 in the current financial year.
The increase was due to the consolidation of new Group companies, among other things. Hönle improved its operating result (EBIT) in the first three months from T 829 in the previous year to T 1,475 in the current year. The pre-tax result (EBT) amounted to T 1,288 after T 828 in the previous year and the consolidated net income for the year jumped to T 939 after T 383 in the year before, translating into earnings per share of 0.17 (PY: 0.08).
The EBIT margin thus improved from 5.3 % in the previous year to 8.4 %, while the net return on sales rose from 2.4 % to 5.7 %. Operative cash flow amounts to T 2,447 after T 628 in the previous year. The Hönle Group’s equity ratio stands at 60.7 %.
Outlook:
While the Hönle Group’s future business development also depends on the development of the global economy, it is significantly impacted by the effectiveness of the measures taken to optimise the operational and organisation structure, in particular with respect to the new subsidiaries. The Management aims at Hönle Group sales of between 80 to 85 million in financial year 2012/2013 and an operating result of between 10 and 12 million. The figures include consolidation of Grafix GmbH for 9 months in the current financial year.
In the first quarter of the 2012/2013 financial year, Hönle felt the weak propensity to invest in the ‘equipment and systems’ and the ‘glass and lamps’ segments. It contributed significantly to the fact that both sales and earnings level lagged behind expectations. From the beginning of 2013, the Hönle Group benefitted from the pick up in economic recovery which led to rising incoming orders and order portfolios.
The newly acquired Grafix GmbH will expand the existing product range for the printing market. Customer loyalty of important buyers can thus be strengthened and further improved. In addition, the customer base of Grafix GmbH can also be used for other companies in the Hönle Group. A solid sales level and a positive earnings contribution are already projected for the first year of the initial consolidation of Grafix GmbH.
As a result of its three business segments: ‘Equipment and Systems’, ‘Adhesives’ and ‘Glass and Lamps’, the Hönle Group is well positioned with respect to its further business development. Moreover, the Group is represented in markets that still offer great potential for further growth. The objective of exceeding the sales threshold of 100 million in the foreseeable future has thus come within close reach, which is not only due to the acquisition of Grafix GmbH.
