Antalis and Whitechapel Gallery join forces for fundraising event
Wednesday 13. February 2013 - Antalis UK has teamed up with the Whitechapel Gallery to help create 6,000 luxury invitations for the London-based institution's annual fundraising gala.
The invitations for the Swarovski Whitechapel Gallery Art Plus Fashion event were produced using two Arjowiggins-produced creative papers that are exclusively distributed by Antalis; these included the Curious Collection SKIN Tactile Paper in grey and Rives Sensation Tactile Matt in white.
Antalis worked with the Whitechapel Gallery to understand its requirements for the invitations, which had to reflect both the glamour and prestige of the event and its theme, a celebration of the fusion between art and fashion.
Whitechapel Gallery Designer Lucy May created a geometric pattern design for the invitations, with a vibrant colour palette of bright yellow, neon-lime green, black and metallic silver.
The Curious Skin grey paper, one of four new colours recently introduced to the range, was used to make a geometric outer sleeve for the invitation while the inner section was produced using the Rives Sensation Tactile Matt stock.
Lucy May said: “I loved the matte finish and heavyweight quality of the Curious Skin stock, while for the inner section I needed a paper that would really highlight the vibrant yellow, lime, black and silver inks, especially as I was using neons and metallics. I am very pleased with how the two papers work together to bring the design to life.”
Swarovski Whitechapel Gallery Art Plus Fashion will be held on 14 March and will feature major names from the world of fashion including Giles Deacon, Bella Freud, Marios Schwab and Nadja Swarovski, who will select the most promising fashion postgraduates in London to take centre stage for the Gallery’s first ever live catwalk show.
