KCP&L signs with DST Output for print and electronic customer billing communications
Tuesday 06. November 2012 - Energy service provider will enhance its ability to meet customer preferences with multiple delivery channels
KCP&L, a full-service energy provider that serves more than 800,000 customers in 47 northwestern Missouri and eastern Kansas counties, recently selected through RFP and signed a multi-year contract with DST Output to produce and deliver its customer billing communications.
“Our selection of DST Output enhances our ability to meet customers’ preferences for receiving and accessing their bills through traditional mail and online,” says Scott Heidtbrink, KCP&L COO. “It’s a great fit for KCP&L because it allows us access to new technology for connecting with our customers now and into the future and be more cost effective in doing so.”
KCP&L plans to transition production and delivery of all of its customer statements and notices to DST Output beginning with its Greater Missouri Operations customer statements by the end of first quarter 2013 and KCP&L customer statements by the end of second quarter 2013.
The majority of the KCP&L work will be done in DST Output’s Kansas City facility, although backup resources and redundancy remain available at other locations across the country, including California and Connecticut.
