CEWE at the photokina with first-class innovations

Tuesday 25. September 2012 - - Dr. Hollander: 'Overwhelming response to our innovations' - 'photokina Star Award' for the 'videos in a CEWE PHOTO BOOK' product innovation - CEWE goes mobile: placing orders for photo products away from home

CEWE COLOR Holding AG (SDAX, ISIN: DE0005403901) enters the fourth quarter of 2012 with a great deal of wind from behind and again confirms its position as the technological leader. At the 2012 photokina, the leading international trade show for photography, Europe’s leading photo and online printing service was awarded the prestigious ‘photokina Star Award’ for the ‘highlight of the 2012 photokina: videos in a CEWE PHOTO BOOK. Thanks to an innovative tool, videos can now be integrated into a CEWE PHOTO BOOK. They are shown with a QR code, and can be played anywhere and at any time with the help of a smartphone or tablet. Visitors to the trade show stand were also enthusiastic about ‘CEWE goes mobile’: with the CEWE Mobile Photo Service, photo products can simply be designed, ordered or even collected right away per instant print from home or away from home. iPads(R) and android tablets provide generous scope for designing CEWE photo products. And owners of a smartphone or tablet can use the CEWE INSTANT PHOTOS app to prepare an order for instant prints anywhere. Besides, the CEWE INSTANT PHOTOS Finder quickly shows users how to get to their nearest CEWE PHOTO STATION.
90 percent of expected EBIT for 2012 in the fourth quarter
‘For us, the photokina is the perfect opening to the most important quarter of the year: we met all our major retail partners at the trade show and we are delighted about the overwhelming response to our product innovations. Retailers and customers particularly liked the idea of linking mobile applications with our top sellers such as the CEWE PHOTO BOOK and photo gift articles,’ says Dr. Rolf Hollander CEO with CEWE COLOR Holding AG. In the past few years, the shift in seasons has resulted in the fourth quarter becoming more significant in terms of sales and earnings due to the strong growth in the share of high-quality CEWE PHOTO BOOKS and personalised photo gift articles. CEWE COLOR is thus likely to generate around 90 per cent of its expected earnings for 2012 in the fourth quarter (expected EBIT range for 2012: EUR 27 to 33 million). The new business segment for online printing is to considerably boost growth by around EUR 40 million and raise Group turnover in the range of 7% to 12%, from EUR 500 million to EUR 525 million in 2012.
