CEWE (SDAX, ISIN: DE0005403901) is presenting many photofinishing innovations at photokina 2012, the leading international photography trade fair. Europe’s leading photo and online print service is once again showcasing pioneering product innovations and technology developments in the digital world. ‘We would like to see our role as a first mover to be justified once again. We are therefore proud to be able to present numerous innovations once again at photokina 2012 and in this way present CEWE as a driving force in the industry,’ says Dr Rolf Hollander, Chairman of the Board of Management of CEWE.
Videos in the CEWE PHOTOBOOK
The CEWE PHOTOBOOK is the bestseller in CEWE’s range of products and stands for outstanding quality with a guarantee of satisfaction. More than 40 different versions allow customers to design their own copies with a choice of covers, formats and paper. CEWE is presenting a pioneering development for its bestseller at photokina 2012: thanks to an innovative tool, videos can now be integrated into the CEWE PHOTOBOOK. The tool displays the video, together with a QR code, allowing the user to play the video at any time and anywhere on a smartphone or tablet.
The CEWE PHOTOBOOK XXL Panorama on matt and glossy photo paper has also been launched just in time for the trade fair. The special photo paper ensures that the images develop their maximum luminosity and stand out with particularly sharp detail and depth.
CEWE goes mobile
With CEWE’s mobile photo services, it’s easy for customers who are at home or out and about to design, order or even instantly print photo products to take home with them. iPads(R) and Android tablets provide generous scope for designing CEWE photo products. Smartphone and tablet owners can also use the CEWE FOTOS SOFORT app to prepare their order from almost anywhere for instant printing. And the CEWE FOTOS SOFORT finder can be used to find the way to the nearest CEWE PHOTOSTATION.
New inspiration in CEWE range
The photokina innovations encompass the market leader’s entire product range. CEWE is presenting several innovative photo gift products: from tablet and smartphone cases to individual door signs and coffee mugs designed by users themselves. Also available are more than 300 new design templates for greeting cards, user-oriented software innovations and photo ideas for 3D technology. For example, the 3D photo may consist of two traditional images which can be combined to create a blurred effect. Alternatively, the customer uses a conventional photo and combines it with a 3D design. Three-dimensional images, which are taken using a special camera, can be ordered in the best print quality.
Creative scope – singlehandedly
The multi-piece posters in the wall decoration range are a real eye-catcher at the CEWE trade fair stand. For this, the photo is printed in two, three or four parts with each part hung on the wall some distance apart. Self-adhesive posters are another innovation at photokina. They can be easily applied to walls, furniture or windows and removed without leaving a mark – and can even be re-used. Those who do not have their own photo available for decorating their own four walls will in future be able to choose from over 15 million professional motifs in the motif gallery.

CEWE has reported strong growth in the online print service segment in recent years. As early as 2011, the company invested heavily to significantly expand production capacities and establish a basis for further growth. By bundling its online print activities under the CEWE-PRINT.de portal, the Oldenburg-based company ushered in a period of structural change for the entire industry: CEWE-PRINT.de targets business customers in particular who are looking for small quantities of high-quality print products. This service is complemented by extensive offset print capacities and large quantities of web offset products. The range of services also covers large print and package printing.
