Christoph Mohn new Chairman of the Bertelsmann SE & Co. KGaA Supervisory Board from 2013

Monday 03. September 2012 - On January 1, 2013, Christoph Mohn (47) takes over as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Bertelsmann SE & Co. KGaA. At its meeting today, the controlling board chose Christoph Mohn to succeed Gunter Thielen (70), who will resign his post on reaching the customary retirement age at Bertelsmann, and retires from the Supervisory Board at the end of December after five years.

Gunter Thielen, Chairman of the Bertelsmann SE & Co. KGaA Supervisory Board, says: “Christoph Mohn is a respected manager who has closely supported Bertelsmann’s development for decades and who will greatly enrich the work of the Supervisory Board with his wealth of experience. I am pleased that he is taking over the leadership of this body from next year and wish him every success.”
Christoph Mohn says: “I am grateful for the confidence of my fellow colleagues on the Bertelsmann Supervisory Board and would especially like to thank Gunter Thielen. I very much look forward to my new role. Bertelsmann stands at the beginning of a process of a long-term reshaping. The Supervisory Board of Bertelsmann Management SE (the general partner of Bertelsmann SE & Co. KGaA) simultaneously appointed Christoph Mohn as its future chairman. Mohn will succeed Gunter Thielen in this position as well, from the beginning of next year.
Bertelsmann Verwaltungsgesellschaft controls 100 percent of the voting rights at the Bertelsmann SE & Co. KGaA Annual General Meeting.
