GrafiWrap Design Competition 2012
Friday 24. August 2012 - This year the GrafiWrap Design Competition was open for everyone. And that became clear to Grafityp very soon ! Registrations coming from the most unknown places, from East to West and from North to South - they came from all over the world. Ten of the designs we received eventually ended on the jury's table. A prize was awarded to three of them.
Philippe Gilais (France) and Jérôme Campbell (Belgium) won the second and the third prize. Taut lines and a simple design were their characteristics. Both competitors win a VIP-weekend during a FIA GT1 or a Blancpain Endurance race of their choice.
The first prize went to France, where Yannick Herremans created the winning design. Flowing lines made the car fast, even while it was standing still. The materials used on the car are a combination of Amazone leather look, carbon black, Antarctica black and silver and brushed aluminium. The sponsor names were applied with cast film. Of course Yannick Herramns was invited to join us in Francorchamps to view his design in real and to enjoy the exclusive VIP-arrangement for four persons, which he had won.
The racing car eventually had a really rough time. Various contacts with other racing cars during the race forced the KRK team to throw in the towel at about 3 in the morning. The weather also proved to be disastrous, and really put the GrafiWrap films to the test. But we felt absolutely confident…
A second Mercedes was put on display in the paddock. This car was a real crowd puller. Thousands of people made pictures and came back until long after the race to “feel” the car. It was clear that the large public really liked the GrafiWrap Automotive & Deco films.
