Tuesday 17. July 2012 - New high-speed 6-colour UV printing/coating line goes live at PS PrintService in Neuhaus-Schierschnitz

PS-PrintService has been using metal-decorating equipment from KBA-MetalPrint since the opening of its new print shop in 2004. Since May 2012, PS-PrintService has been operating one of the most cutting edge high-speed printing and coating lines in the metal decorating sector.
The line from KBA-MetalPrint comprises a 6-colour MetalStar printing press, followed by the new developed innovative inline coater, the MetalCoat 480, and a triple box stacker with dynamic vacuum overhead stacking technology and combines maximum flexibility with the highest production quality. Almost all functions of the individual line components are automated, thus enabling ultra fast changeover times for the next job and ensuring that even small jobs can be produced cost-efficiently.
Perfect quality through online control
The DensiTronic colour quality control system ensures absolute adherence to colour values and suggests online corrections if necessary.
The ACRC Automatic Camera Register Control provides perfect register after the first draw of a test sheet. Five interdeck UV dryers, a final UV ink dryer downstream of the printing press and an additional UV varnish cure with underside drying behind the inline coater, ensure that all UV inks and varnishes are completely cured on both sides, while the UV lamp ELC system reduces energy consumption to an absolute minimum.
The automatic transfer of job data from the prepress department directly to the printing press via CIP-link, fully automatic printing plate changing, automatic roller and cylinder washing, and the automatic Sheet size setting of all line components combine to ensure maximum ease of use and efficiency.
Whether processing tin sheet (rectangular or scroll format) or aluminium, the line is designed to handle all materials and ensure a smooth sheet run at speeds of up to 9000 sph. Inside the printing machine the sheet run is sensor monitored.
