UPM Paper worked as the gateway to new experiences at drupa

Thursday 21. June 2012 - Once again the world's largest printing exhibition drupa sent out key impulses for the worldwide print and media industry. UPM stand gathered visitors from all over the world to turn the page and write the next chapter in the future of print.

“As the world’s leading manufacturer of graphic papers, we wanted to stand out at the fair above all as a frontrunner and a partner that keeps up with the times, that believes strongly in print – today and tomorrow. That was recognised and appreciated by our customers as well,” says Erik Ohls, Senior Adviser, Technical Sales at UPM.
At drupa, UPM showcased an extensive range of its papers and services as well as new and interesting openings to combine printed and digital communication. “In line with our chosen theme, we brought up the role of paper as a gateway to exciting experiences together with our PrintCity Alliance partners,” Ohls continues.
Drupa visitors were inspired by the new, interesting possibilities various cross-media solutions offer to modern print. UPM showed how codes, tags and augmented reality work and add completely new dimensions to printed publications.
Interested listeners gathered to UPM info sessions to hear more about the multiple examples where print acts as the gateway to exciting experiences. Augmented reality was one of the hot topics at drupa. The third dimension of print was introduced also at UPM stand in different forms such as the UPM Griffinspire, a customer newsletter, with several AR elements, as well as Future Travel Catalogue, which was literally bringing pictures alive and taking readers to winter wonderland with the magnificent Aurora Borealis.
