HELIOSTAR SE
Friday 25. May 2012 - Windmöller & Hölscher continues to expand its internationally successful HELIOSTAR rotogravure press portfolio. In addition to the HELIOSTAR SH and SL models, which will be shown at W&H's booth at drupa, the company is introducing the HELIOSTAR SE, designed for extremely short runs. The press and its new fully-automated cylinder changing system will be shown at W&H's in-house EXPO in Lengerich from Monday, May 7th through Friday, May 11th.
The HELIOSTAR SE was created to accommodate smaller jobs, which require frequent change-overs. The press’s fully automatic print cylinder change addresses the need for quick-changeovers by eliminating conventional manual change-over procedures. The heart of this development is an automatic cylinder change cart docked directly in front of the print decks that enables simultaneous cylinder changes on all decks.
Another feature that increases up-time efficiency of the HELIOSTAR SE is the TURBOCLEAN inking and wash-up system. TURBOCLEAN has been a successful and proven component on W&H flexographic presses for years.
The combination of fully automatic impression cylinder changes and TURBOCLEAN will significantly shorten job change-overs on gravure presses. This will result in savings of ink, substrate and solvents. Printers will see not only cost-effective short run production, but also new possibilities to improve sustainability in their production processes.
W&H will present the HELIOSTAR SE and its innovative technology on an 8 color model at W&H’s in-house EXPO. The press has a print width of 1.300 mm (51.24″), runs at maximum speeds of 350 m/min (1,450 ft/min) and comes with EASY-SYNC (pre-register system), HELIOCONTROL (register controller) and VISCOCONTROL (viscosity controller) in addition to the automation modules. These are integrated into the machine controls, in contrast to customary modules.
This guarantees optimal interaction between press and modules, easy and comprehensive online diagnostics, and above all, a way of displaying the functions of the modules on the central operator panel, that fits seamlessly into the operating concept of the machine and enables easy, intuitive operation.
The user friendliness carries over to conventional modules, e.g. doctor blades and dryer nozzles, that can now be installed and removed without tools and in just a few simple steps.
W&H offers package printers top-quality gravure printing presses with working widths from 800 to 1700 mm and a variety of automation modules for virtually any application in flexible packaging. These include the HELIOSTAR G (600m/min) along with the HELIOSTAR S series (SL, SH and SE).
