Strapping press XZE with the very latest strapping head technology CFL-2
The fully automatic, easy-maintenance strapping press in the modular series XZE developed specially for the printing and paper industry offers convincing, innovative technology and precise production engineering made in Germany.
Here the customer finds clear advantages for example in the highly developed drive concept, constant pressure that can be freely edited with the PLC, and different pressing types. Special attention has been paid to the post-pressing function of up to 4 seconds. This intelligent process, which is actually a standard feature in the XZE, ensures constant, reproducible adjustment of the pressure in the machine, thus generating optimum pressing force. The XZE comes in many different versions and is easy and convenient to operate with a 5.7″ colour touch panel; it does not require compressed air and is capable of lengthwise and crosswise strapping of the load thanks to an optional turntable or a lift turning cross. An additional integrated strap compensation module distributes the strap tension evenly across the whole load, thus making the best possible use of the technical characteristics of the PET strap.
An innovative, latest-generation high-powered strapping head now warrants even better strapping results for the XZE, particularly for specially demanding packages, such as printing products and corrugated board. The CFL-2 strapping head presented to visitors for the first time at the Drupa 2012 is the new strong heart of the system, with many convincing innovative features. A newly developed drive concept lets the user profit from unprecedented reproducibility in strap tension and seal efficiency, resulting in optimum holding power and safety transporting loads.
Just like the large CFH-1 strapping head, the compact, lightweight CFL-2 also belongs to the Cyklop strapping head family and offers great advantages particularly for the printing and paper industry, and also for high-speed applications, such as those required for example in the roofing tile industry. The CFL-2 is currently one of the lightest and fastest strapping heads available on the market. Thanks to its direct drives, the new drive system manages without clutches and works with just one single gear belt. The four brushless DC motors are highly robust and durable, applying force exactly where it is required. The direct drive keeps the fully variable strap tension of 200 to 2,200 Newton to a constant level throughout the whole strapping process. In other words, the Newton value needed for the specific package is kept constantly stable from morning to evening, no matter how cold or warm the strapping head has become. This is beneficial to productivity, machine service life and last but not least to the safety and retaining strength of the strapped package. Depending on the particular strap material and qualities, seal efficiency reaches very high values of a constant 85%. The strapping cycle speed is 3.9 m/sec. which is in line with market requirements. Further advantages of the CFL-2 include easy maintenance resulting from the machine’s low wear, together with few spare parts and an innovative regreasing system. Both regreasing and replacement of the clamping profiles is thus possible in just a few minutes without dismantling. Despite its huge performance capabilities, the CFL-2 weighs no more than 59 kg with low energy consumption of 0.5 kW/h. The operating voltage has been kept to a low 48 volt in the interests of occupational safety.
Quality made in Germany – like most systems and machines made by Cyklop, both the XZE and the new CFL-2 strapping head are developed and produced in the Cyklop plant in Cologne.
