New products
Roland DG introduces an integrated printer/cutter and two printers. The VersaSTUDIO BN-20 is the world’s first desktop printer/cutter that can be used with metallic ink. The device has a printing and cutting width of 48cm, ideal for textile transfers, stickers, labels and posters. The BN-20 can be used with two ink types: the popular ECO-SOL MAX inks in CMYK or CMYK + metallic configuration, or the Roland water-based inks in CMYK configuration. The BN-20 is delivered with R-Works. This is a user-friendly design software with which users can make or edit designs in a simple, straightforward manner.
Roland DG also launches the VersaUV LEF-12 at Fespa Digital. This is Roland DG’s smallest UV printer. It is a desktop device that uses CMYK, white and transparent ink. The built-in LED lamps dry the ink. The LEF-12 is developed to print photos, logos or other designs direct on to objects up to 11 cm thick. Examples of objects include gadgets, giftware and prototypes.
Moreover, Roland DG demonstrates the new VersaUV LEJ-640. This is a 163 cm-wide hybrid UV printer that can print on rigid materials and on rolls. The standard LEJ-640 is delivered with a table unit that is easy to remove .Applications include packaging prototypes, displays, billboards and other signs. The maximum material thickness is 1.3 cm. The built-in LED lamps dry the ink. No heat is released in the process, so users can print on heat-sensitive materials.
Exhibition of creative applications
Roland DG organizes an exhibition of applications made with its machines. Here, signmakers are inspired about how to generate a bigger turnover using their large format printer. The exhibition can be visited free of charge at the Roland DG meeting point between exhibition halls 3 and 4.
At the meeting point – which is in fact a gigantic truck – clients of Roland DG can also enjoy a free drink and snack.
Software presentations
Visitors of the show are also invited to join the presentations that are held each day of the show at 11.30h and 14.30h. The presentations cover the use of the Roland VersaWorks software and of the special metallic ink. The presentations clarify all possible questions about the use of metallic inks.
