Mail Processing Solution From Engineering Innovation and Parascript Selected by Panhandle Presort Services to Automate Flats Processing

Parascript, LLC, the image analysis and pattern recognition technology provider, today announced that Panhandle Presort Services (PPS), a complete mail service company providing mail solutions in Texas, has implemented Engineering Innovation’s EZ-Flats transport, which incorporates Parascript’s AddressScript as the only optical character recognition (OCR) solution.
Before implementing EZ-Flats with Parascript’s OCR, Panhandle Presort Services was processing flat mail without any postal discounts. Upon implementing the integrated mail processing solution, PPS was able to immediately obtain the flats postal automation discounts and achieve a return on investment in 10 months of operation. Additionally, Parascript’s click model, with pay-as-you-go scenario, significantly reduced the cost of the initial investment.

While EZ-Flats transport is able to process 700 to 1,000 flats per hour, it is also beneficial for mailers, such as Panhandle Presort Services, with smaller volumes of 2,000 flats per day. EZ-Flats tracks every mail piece to its maximum discount level for easy verification and billing. The integrated mail processing solution achieves address recognition and interpretation rates of 95 percent on both machine print and handwritten addresses.
