Macchingraf to Show Autobond Laminator at MedPrint
Wednesday 09. February 2011 - Following its recent appointment to represent UK laminator manufacturer Autobond throughout Italy, Macchingraf will be demonstrating an Autobond Mini 36 TPM (hall 3, stand D2-E7) at the forthcoming Medprint 2011 exhibition, 23rd - 26th March, Fiera di Roma.
“The Mini 36 TPM is the perfect laminator to show alongside the wide range of other leading graphic arts equipment that will be on our stand at Medprint,” says Lorenzo Ariberti, product manager for finishing equipment. “Since our appointment by Autobond at the end of 2010, we’ve received a high level of interest in the Mini laminators and we are hopeful of announcing our first order in Italy soon after the exhibition.
“This particular model, with the capacity to handle stock from A4 to 360 x 570 mm, makes it ideal for the digital print market, while the ability to apply substantial pressure in the nip rollers means that the Mini is unrivalled in its capability to laminate successfully on top of the wide variety of toners and inks used in digital presses. Historically, some digitally printed material has proved extremely difficult to laminate.”
The Mini 36 TPM is a thermal model that can laminate both sides of the sheet in one pass and the Heidelberg Stahl continuous suction drum feeder enables speeds of up to 30 metres per minute. Alternatively, it can apply a thermal film one side and a magnetic material on the reverse, making it ideal for the production of fridge magnets etc. The stock range can be from 90 gsm to 650 gsm. The Mini 36 TPM has an extremely small footprint of only 1.7 x 1.1 metres.
Autobond laminators are in use in more than 160 countries and can be supplied in B3, B2, and B1 sizes (portrait and landscape) as well as in a wide range of configurations. Autobond has pioneered the incorporation of other finishing processes within the laminating line. For instance, new and existing laminators can include Autobond’s recently launched inkjet spot UV varnish unit with an LED lamp, creating the option for laminating and spot UV varnishing in a single pass.
