Markem-Imaje – pushing the boundaries of economical pack coding

Thursday 13. January 2011 - Markem-Imaje will be showing its new SmartDate X40 thermal transfer printer which helps customers control their coding costs and reduce environmental impacts by minimising ribbon usage and maintenance requirements. Features of the new coder include a direct ribbon drive, an improved cassette design to remove any wear parts, an increased ribbon length to 1100 metres to reduce changeovers and a rise in uptime.

Aside from the SmartDate X40, Markem-Imaje will also be unveiling its new 9232 inkjet printer. A new addition to the 9000 series and manufactured from 80% recyclable materials, the new design printshigh quality date codes, logos, alphanumeric text, 1D and 2D barcodes and other product and traceability information. The small character inkjet printer features an innovative print-head which allows speeds of up to 6.6m per second, and ink cartridges with an even longer life-span that can be changed without having to stop the coding operation.
