Journal Register Company Executive Vice President of Digital Media Arturo Duran Named One of Top Hispanic IT Leaders in U.S.

Arturo Duran, Executive Vice President of Digital Media for Journal Register Company, a leading local news and information company, has been named one of the nation’s top IT leaders by the Hispanic IT Executive Council.
Mr. Duran, who has more than 20 years of experience in digital media, was named to the HITEC 100. Since 2008, The Hispanic IT Executive Council has compiled a comprehensive list featuring the top 100 most influential and notable Hispanic professionals in the information technology industry including executives from AT&T, IBM, Oracle, Disney, Cisco and NASA.
“Arturo’s knowledge of digital media and his years of leadership in the field make him an invaluable addition to Journal Register’s team,” said John Paton, Chief Executive Officer of Journal Register Company. “He will continue to lead our efforts in transforming the Company into a Digital First news organization.”
Mr. Duran is currently leading Journal Register Company’s digital division to grow new revenue streams and provide additional digital content including growing the Company’s video portfolio.
Prior to joining Journal Register, Mr. Duran served as the Chief Executive Officer of impreMedia Digital, one of the nation’s leading Hispanic media companies. Mr. Duran orchestrated strategic partnerships with MySpace, America Online, PBS and MTV to grow impreMedia’s digital audience. Mr. Duran previously served as President of Interactive for CanWest Global MediaWorks and as a Vice President for America Online.
