Valspar Names Roeland H. Polet Senior Vice President, Global Industrial

Monday 22. November 2010 - The Valspar Corporation (NYSE: VAL), announced today that Roeland H. Polet has joined the company as Senior Vice President, Global Industrial, reporting to Gary E. Hendrickson, President and Chief Operating Officer. In this role, Polet will have global responsibility for the General Industrial and Coil product lines and becomes an officer of the company.

Polet, 47, joins Valspar from Celanese, where he served in a number of executive business leadership roles, most recently as Vice President and General Manager of Ticona, a Celanese corporation. Prior to Celanese, Polet was CEO of Carbolite Foods, and served previously as Vice President, Commercial and Research & Development, NAFTA region, for DSM Corporation. Polet is a native of the Netherlands and holds bachelors and masters degrees in Economics from State University of New York at Buffalo.
