Katun Corporation Acquires the Toner Cartridge Business of Media Sciences International, Inc.
Tuesday 16. November 2010 - Acquisition Will Extend Katuns Position as a Leading Imaging Supplier
Monomoy Capital Partners, L.P., a New York private equity fund focused on value investing and business improvement, announced today that it has acquired the toner cartridge business of Media Sciences International, Inc. for its portfolio company Katun Corporation.
Katun Corporation is one of the worlds leading alternative suppliers of imaging supplies, photoreceptors and parts for the imaging industry, while Media Sciences International, Inc. is a leading independent manufacturer of color toner cartridges and solid ink sticks for color printers. As part of this transaction, Katun will also become the exclusive master distributor of the Media Sciences ink stick product line.
The acquisition of Media Sciences color toner cartridge business expands Katuns offering into the growing color printer supplies category and allows Katun to provide a complete, complementary copier and printer offering to customers in multiple channels.

This acquisition is the first add-on that Katun has made since Monomoy acquired the business in late 2008.
