Systech and Marchesini Showcase Integrated Platform for Evolving Global Requirements
Friday 03. September 2010 - Pharmaceutical manufacturers get a first-hand look at a combined solution that meets diverse coding and serialization regulations
Systech International, innovator of Packaging Execution Systems (PES), and Marchesini Group, leader in labeling technology, today announced that they are showcasing their integrated solution at the Marchesini demo center in France. The system, consisting of Systech Sentri and Marchesinis BL400, enables manufacturers to meet vision inspection and labeling requirements such as French CIP13 and serialization requirements. Visitors will be able to see the system running in production mode at the Marchesini France demonstration center.
“Todays packaging environment is growing increasingly complex as more and more countries implement strict coding and serialization regulations”
The Systech-Marchesini solution, already tested and deployed over 100 times by several major pharmaceutical manufacturers, is capable of adapting to new demands and responding to new requirements, including serialization initiatives such as authentication and track and trace. As a result, manufacturers can leverage the same solution to efficiently address todays local coding regulations as well as tomorrows evolving serialization mandates. European manufacturers interested in the offering can now observe these capabilities first-hand, as well as speak with Marchesini engineers, before investing in full deployment.
“Todays packaging environment is growing increasingly complex as more and more countries implement strict coding and serialization regulations,” states Frederic Menardo, general manager of Systech Europe. “Through our long-term relationship, Systech and Marchesini have continually collaborated to refine our offering, providing our customers with the solutions that they need to meet todays diverse packaging demands. By viewing the one-stop inspection and labeling solution in action, manufacturers can personally and directly see how this investment will benefit their packaging operations for years to come.”
Systech Sentris Datamatrix Verification (DMV) and Optical Character Verification (OCV) vision tools provide the basis for satisfying the CIP13 inspection requirements. Combining these tools with Sentris intelligent location registration methods, provides the flexibly to handle variations in product size and print locations. Also included is Sentris complete library of vision tools, all of which are designed specifically for packaging inspection applications. This tool suite allows the system to scale to meet other inspection needs such as print quality verification, tamper evident label placement, 1D barcode inspection as well as connectivity to Systech Serialized Product Tracking (SPT). Through product class configuration, Sentri can handle multiple inspection requirements arising from product package variations as well as regional and country labeling regulations, all while presenting the line operators with the same, simplified setup process.
The “BL400V TT” is one of the most advanced labellers that can be equipped with a track and trace system. It shares the main technological solutions with the other machines made by Neri, (a Marchesini Group company). The BL400V TT comes with a transport system with toothed belts, which guarantees positive transport and keeps the distance from the carton and the printing head constant. This feature makes it impossible for cartons to stop or change inclination during the printing process. Cartons will be ejected with fail safe logic. The BL400V TT has a balcony construction, for an easier line clearance, and is ergonomically built, thinking about the operator first.
“Combining our experience and expertise, Systech and Marchesini have developed a tightly integrated vision inspection and labeling solution that our customers can smoothly deploy to multiple global sites,” notes Piero Tomasi, Marchesinis Commercial and marketing Director. “This efficiency and dependability is why manufacturers have chosen our offering to address their global business needs.”
