ECO Folder-Gluer Lends Oomph to Flower City Printing’s Finishing Lineup

Friday 06. August 2010 - Flower City Printing, Rochester, N.Y. has added capacity to its finishing capabilities with the installation of a 41" ECO 105 folder-gluer from Heidelberg.

The company, which specializes in retail signage, POP, POS, folding cartons, litho labels, packaging and kit-packing/fulfillment, was impressed with the ECO 105’s productivity—up to 50,000 lockbottom cartons per hour—as well as with its flexibility to process lock- and double-wall boxes, along with four- and six-corner cartons. According to Director of Marketing Tina Beauchemin, the ease of use and fast makereadies enabled by the new folder-gluer are also a big plus for the handling of frequent job changeovers needed to process multiple short runs from 5,000 to 50,000 pieces.

“The ECO 105 has become a valuable addition to our folding and gluing operation due to its ability to handle a wide range of folding configurations and sizes,” said Kevin Neureuter, Director of Operations.

Established in 1970 and with annual sales revenue in the $60 million range, Flower City operates three facilities in the Rochester area employing a total of around 285 employees.
