Kai Brettmann Elected to Supervisory Board of Bertelsmann AG
Thursday 22. July 2010 - Kai Brettmann (49), Chairman of the RTL Group European Works Council and of the Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland Corporate Works Council, has been appointed to the Bertelsmann AG Supervisory Board. He was elected at an Extraordinary General Meeting held by the company today. Brettmann will take a seat on the board immediately, succeeding Helmut Gettkant.
Gunter Thielen, Chairman of the Bertelsmann Supervisory Board, declared: “Kai Brettmann has been a competent, constructive contact for employee concerns in our highest-revenue division, RTL Group, for over ten years. The Supervisory Board very much looks forward to a trustful relationship in the best interests of the company.”
Kai Brettmann has served as Chairman of the RTL Television Works Council since 1997 and additionally chaired its European Works Council, the employee representation of RTL Groups workforce, since 2001. Brettmann is a journalist and heads the online editorial department at RTL Nord in Hamburg.
