Sun Chemical first to market with a single UV screen ink system: SunPromo Universal range

Friday 25. June 2010 - SunPromo Universal - designed specially for point of purchase & advertising displays

Today retailers and brands are increasingly faced with the challenge of attracting customer eye-balls, whether it be via arresting ambient display advertising or cleverly engineered point of sale promotions. After extensive research and product testing, Sun Chemical is accelerating innovation in this space with the introduction of the SunPromo Universal range; a versatile multi-purpose UV curing screen ink system. SunPromo can be successfully applied across a wide range of substrates, offering standardisation to match offset print collateral.

Promotional campaigns often involve printing similar graphics on a range of different materials, SunPromo Universal, specially designed for printing indoor and short-term outdoor displays, offers a single ink system, enabling brands to match the colour and appearance between the different substrates.

Jonathan Sexton, Sales and Marketing Director, Screen & Narrow Web Europe at Sun Chemical said: “We’ve been closely monitoring the trend for using offset to produce large POP displays and in turn the need to match screen process with offset print collateral. Following extensive R&D, we believe Universal represents a genuine first to market in terms of superior reliability of adhesion, ease of use and standardisation of a single ink system.”

SunPromo Universal presents a combination of versatility along with exceptional ease of use and printability. It provides superior adhesion attributes so can be applied to a range of materials, is highly adaptable for fast turnaround on all presses, and produces consistent high quality finish and colour ideally suited for multisubstrate campaigns.

Felipe Mellado, CMO of Sun Chemical: “We’re hugely encouraged by the benefits that SunPromo Universal will bring to our customers. Today brands need consistency across their sales and advertising collateral in order to communicate and strengthen brand awareness. Crucially, Universal allows them to implement their messaging effectively across a broad range of materials and substrates, whilst maintaining optimal print quality.”

The four colour process is available now, to be followed by SunMatch colour blending system inks.
