MBS-5 L UV SYSTEM

Wednesday 23. June 2010 - At this years' s IPEX in Birmingham, the printing industry' s leading international trade fair, IST METZ presented to an international audience among other things the innovative MBS-5 L UV system.

UV printing with web printing machines requires reliable technologies designed with costs in mind. The MBS-5L UV system is based on the air-cooled MBS-5 UV unit, which is already tried and tested in rotary label printing. The MBS-5L means that a powerful air cooled UV unit with a lamp length of 550 to 1,100 mm
is now available. The highly efficient URS reflector technology is also used here. This means that the production speeds that are normal in this market segment can be achieved with a lamp output of 180 W/cm. The reflector design, unique in the industry, guarantees that the half shells can be changed easily, allowing tailored optimisation of the reflector geometry or coating depending on the printing job. The complete lack of water cooling enables rapid installation and reduces maintenance costs. The MBS-5L features aroma and ozone extraction, which simultaneously cools the permanently monitored lamp and the reflector. The automatic output control guarantees that the quick change UV lamps have a dimming range of up to 30%.
