XiJet Introduces Lexmark-based Industrial Inkjet Print Heads
Thursday 06. May 2010 - XiJet Corporation, a leading supplier of industrial inkjet print controllers and turnkey print systems headquartered in Woodbridge, CT, introduces the LX Print Head family based on industrial thermal inkjet technology from Lexmark TM. Thermal inkjet technology facilitates the design of cost effective, high resolution printers with a clean, low maintenance ink supply. Introduction of the LX product line reflects XiJets commitment to supplying industrial inkjet systems that maximize print quality and productivity across a wide variety of applications.
The LX Print Head consists of a print controller and up to four 0.5″ cartridge stalls, packaged in a compact industrial chassis. The native print resolution is 600 dots per inch. Ink is supplied via disposable cartridges which may be connected to a bulk ink delivery system. Water-based and solvent-based inks are available from XiJet or its distributors.
Key Features
“The Lexmark-based product offers several distinct advantages relative to competing industrial thermal inkjet technologies”, noted Scott Snietka, XiJets President. “It produces 600×300 dpi prints at transport speeds up to 122 meters/min (80 inches/sec), which is important for high throughput applications. The print nozzles are organized in two inline rows, meaning that good print quality is maintained even with an isolated clogged nozzle since the adjacent nozzle helps fill in the printed object. Excellent print quality is achieved at ink throw distances up to 6 mm, which is important when printing on variable thickness media. The print heads have an extremely low profile, which allows for printing horizontally very near the bottom of boxes or trays on a production line. In addition, the advanced pogo pin design assures good cartridge contact and improves overall reliability.”
Turnkey Print System
XiJet offers the LX Print Heads individually or as part of a turnkey print system that includes all the hardware and software you need to integrate with a transport system and start printing variable or fixed data. Print data may contain text, bar codes, graphics, database fields, date/time, and auto-numbers. Composer, our intuitive job layout software, simplifies the task of designing print jobs. We also supply ink and ink delivery systems, I/O controllers, encoders, photo sensors, power supplies, and cables.
