The new Unibind product line: Optimising the finishing workflow of digitally printed case bound books

Thursday 06. May 2010 - The world’s largest binding solutions company, Unibind, will unveil two brand new production line finishers for the Graphic Industry at IPEX 2010. The manufacturer has heavily invested in the development of this new production line, which fills a niche in the publishing market, offering the automated production of personalised hardcovers.

The brand new Case Maker 750A and the CBC12 together work in perfect synergy and offer a complete solution that automates the after-print process for making personalised case bound books. These innovative systems for case making, binding and casing-in are a perfect combination for many companies in the printing industry. Automation of labour-intensive operations guarantees a high quality and consistent production output and reduces the workload. Peak moments in production can easily be met.

Case making with the CaseMaker 750A
The CaseMaker 750A allows the production of unique personalised hardcovers, starting from a completely dry process which doesn’t require any liquid glue.
Thanks to the ‘CasePlano’, which is wrapped with the personalised cover material, this system is extremely maintenance and environmentally friendly. The CaseMaker 750A produces high quality and fully personalised hardcover cases at a speed of up to 400 pieces per hour, handled by only one operator. Various sizes are available, all tailored to the needs of the user.

Guido Peleman, Chairman-CEO at International Headquarters, says: “This machine offers both offset and digital printers a means of producing personalised hardcover products. The machine gives printers a lifeline and opens up new channels, which were unavailable before the release of this machine.”

Binding and casing-in with the CBC12
The new Unibind CBC12 industrial binder can be an ideal partner for the CaseMaker 750A, offering a perfect workflow solution. The CBC12 can bind up to 400 books per hour using the innovative Unibind SteelBinding technology which guarantees a perfect binding and casing-in of hardcover books in various formats and spine sizes.

For any print company looking for something new, this launch represents a completely new opportunity to generate revenue stream.
