Inline die-cutting helps secure jobs!
Wednesday 10. March 2010 - "Using Kocher+Becks inline die-cutting system has saved us a fortune, as well as helping secure peoples jobs here at the company". Thats the clear opinion of Tony Edmonds, director of online, web-to-print business, Azimuth Print based in Chipping Sodbury, near Bristol.
Established in 1989, Tony and his brother Mike have built Azimuth into a solid internet based print business. With the latest offset presses and digital production supported by full design facilities as well as extensive finishing services, they cover just about anything from business cards to full colour brochures as well as large-format posters and exhibition display modules.
“Its tough out there at the moment and adding value to our products helps sustain our business. Weve been kiss-cutting self-adhesive labels and die-cutting using IOC from Kocher+Beck for over two years now. Our press minders find die-cutting relatively simple. Its given them a new challenge and has really helped us because we dont know from one hour to the next what might be ordered by customers on the internet. Were flexible.
Before we did any die-cutting in-house we had to travel 20 miles to get it done outside, but now we handle it all here, along with all of our finishing. Using the IOC system means we can produce document folders either in bulk, or short-run. We even pre-score blanks to go through our Konica digital machine for ultra short runs. A customer can have 10 or 10,000 folders, it doesnt matter.”
Azimuth employs 21 people and is an environmentally accredited company. Kocher+Beck Ltd are market leading specialists supplying flexible rotary cutting dies from its custom built factory in Coalville Leicestershire.
