Kiss-cutting inline made easier

Monday 04. January 2010 - Herts & Essex Printers in Hertford has chosen the IOC inline die-cutting system from Kocher+Beck for use on its Speedmaster SM 52s.

Director Chris Ollard says. “The problem with fitting most inline die-cutting systems on a press is they take too long. Some have several component parts but the IOC system from Kocher+Beck has simplified everything.”
Herts & Essex is a busy, family run commercial print-shop using a battery of Heidelberg Speedmaster 52 presses alongside cylinders, platens and flat-bed cutters to help with the vast amount of finishing needed.
“When it comes to kiss-cut labels we like the inline option, but we needed faster make-ready. The Kocher+Beck IOC system is a one piece die-plate that’s fits tight to the press cylinder so it’s very accurate for both positioning and cutting pressures. Fitting a die is as easy as replacing a printing blanket and there’s no expensive initial outlay other than packings.”
IOC (Inline Offset Cutting) is available for presses from B3 up to B1 directly from Kocher+Beck Ltd based in Coalville Leicestershire. The company is a leading specialist in the supply of flexible rotary cutting dies to the label and envelope industries which is now extending its market into the commercial print sector with its IOC device and die-cutting service.
