AUTOBOND STRENGTHENS SALES IN RUSSIA

Tuesday 16. February 2010 - UK manufacturer Autobond is continuing to strengthen its worldwide sales, service and support with the appointment of a new distributor in Russia, which has been a growing market for high-quality, sheet-fed laminators in recent years.

“Most sales around the world are direct between Autobond and the end user, but the growth in demand for our equipment in certain countries means that it can be very beneficial to all parties to have local support,” says managing director John Gilmore.

“Supplyland first approached us at Drupa 2008 and we’ve had on going conversations ever since. This included at meeting at Print 09 in Chicago at which the managing director of Supplyland said he wanted to buy a laminator to show at a forthcoming exhibition in Moscow. We were extremely impressed by his confidence and commitment.”

Supplyland owner is Vladimir Olivson. “Sheet-fed printers in Russia increasingly want to laminate the printed material they produce, which requires the ability to handle a wide range of stock at high speed,” says Mr Olivson. “There is no doubt that Autobond’s laminators lead the industry in terms of reliability, performance and quality, and the market in Russia is now at the stage where Autobond models provide the most cost effective solution.”

Vladimir Olivson’s faith in Autobond technology has already resulted in two installations, following orders taken at the Polygraphinter 2009 exhibition in November. Both laminators, which are Autobond Mini 76 T models, have been purchased by commercial sheet-fed printers in Moscow.

“There was a huge amount of interest in the Autobond laminators at Polygraphinter 2009 and we expect to be announcing further orders early in 2010,” says Mr Olivson.
